Bandcamp recommendations ~ return to 2018

Bandcamp is a great creation that helps in growth of many musicians. They can control how they sell the music, set their own prices, offer the fans to pay more and sell merchandise on this website. You can discover various artists from various genres. Today, I provide you three of some of my favorite albums of 2018 that are available on Bandcamp with short stories related to them. Enjoy!

'Dead Magic' is my latest discovery. When I was travelling to visit my sister for recent New Years' Eve, I was listening to this album on the way. I felt completely captivated and amazed with all the off-kilter ideas presented on this 5-track album. It is entertaining for such a short tracklist but long duration. I had to buy it on CD and thus, it is the first album that I have bought in 2020.

Anna von Hausswolff is a Swedish musician who started her career in 2010 with her debut album 'Singing from the Grave', followed by 'Ceremony' (2012), 'The Miraculous' (2015) and this album released on 2 March 2018.

Another ear-catching album of 2018 is 'Crumbling' by Mid-Air Thief. Me and my friend firstly discovered "Ahhhh, These Chains!" and instantly fell in love with this track and the album later on. This album is a beautiful and unconventional blend of folktronica, neo-psychedelia, psychedelic pop with a sprinkle of dream pop.

Mid-Air Thief is an independent Korean folktronica musician who disregards the idea of revealing his identity. Before 'Crumbling', he has released music under the moniker Hyoo and the album 'Public Morality' (2015) under the Mid-Air Thief project. Recently, on 31 December 2019, he released two singles "Restless Song" and "Halcyon's Coffin" under the moniker Shadow Community, presumably teasing the coming of a new album.

The last album that I'd like to share with you is '7' by Beach House. This is a fantastic blend of dream pop and neo-psychedelia that is well presented in 11 impressive tracks.

Beach House is an American dream pop duo consisting of Victoria Legrand (lead vocals, keyboards, bass, guitar) and Alex Scally (guitar, keyboards, bass pedals, backing vocals). So far, they have released seven albums, which were met with critical acclaim. The album was described by the critics as "boldest album yet", "heaviest and most immersive-sounding of their career" and "their most adventerous record yet."
